I often think that a more fitting term for funeral ceremonies is a celebration of life. After all, the purpose of these occasions is to look back on a person’s life with warmth, happiness and, where appropriate, gentle humour. It is a time to applaud and observe all they achieved and the memories they leave behind them with the ones they love.
Whether you are arranging a funeral, memorial ceremony or a scattering of ashes for a loved one, I will be by your side, listening to every detail, and ensuring I have a really good understanding of who your loved one was, of the life they lived and what made them unique.
After our meeting I will create a bespoke ceremony that truly captures the life and loves of your deceased loved one. I will send this over to you to read through and I can make any amendments that you wish. I can also assist you with the selection of readings or poems and can suggest different ways of incorporating your loved one’s personality into the ceremony. On the day, I will conduct the ceremony with compassion, warmth and respect.
I also offer living funerals. Living funerals allow friends and family to celebrate a person’s life while they are still alive. It allows that person some control over how and when they say goodbye and allows them to bask in the love that surrounds them.
